English for Everyone is a DK language-learning series, not one book that teaches every learner from beginner to advanced level. Before buying a volume, identify both the level and the type of book you need.

The distinction between a course book and a practice book is especially useful. One introduces and explains language, while the other gives additional work connected to that learning stage.
What the series offers
DK describes English for Everyone as a visually organised course with supporting audio and activities covering core language skills. Its diagrams and illustrations are part of the teaching approach, rather than simply decoration.
The series includes different course, practice, and reference titles. A product called Grammar Guide or Business English is not interchangeable with the first general-English course book, even if the covers look related.

For example, DK’s Practice Book Level 1 Beginner is designed to accompany the Level 1 course book. It is therefore a different purchase from a standalone explanation-based course.
Do not use a generic five-part contents list to judge the whole series. The actual contents, page count, and included activities depend on the specific volume and edition.
Choose the level from sample tasks
Read a sample explanation and attempt several exercises without looking at the answers. A suitable starting point should give you some work to do without leaving almost every instruction or sentence incomprehensible.
If you understand the explanations but make repeated errors in the exercises, that level may offer useful practice. If both the explanations and tasks are effortless, inspect a later level rather than assuming that more pages at the same stage will meet your needs.
A book level is not itself a certificate of proficiency. Match the material to your current skills, and check any stated CEFR alignment on the exact product page rather than guessing from a number on the cover.
Find the correct audio
Use DK’s official audio resources and select the title and level matching your book. For example, the Level 1 Beginner Practice Book audio page provides access to recordings associated with that volume.
Look for the audio symbol in the relevant module. Not every module necessarily has a recording, so a missing track may mean that the exercise is not an audio task rather than that your book is defective.
Before buying, check that you can access the required material on your device. Digital access arrangements and regional product editions can change, making the current publisher page a better guide than an old retailer description.
A practical way to study one lesson
Start by reading the explanation and studying one example slowly. Cover the example and reconstruct it from memory, then complete the exercise without copying the pattern word for word.
Use the matching recording to check meaning and sound. Listen once for the overall message, then replay a short section while reading the text. Finally, say a new sentence that uses the same structure with your own information.
The following is an original study example, not a reproduced DK lesson. If you are learning present-simple routines, move from “She works in a café” to “My brother works in a hospital,” then form the question “Where does your brother work?”

What a book cannot show on its own
Completing exercises can demonstrate that you recognise or produce the practised patterns. It does not automatically show how well you manage an unscripted conversation, understand unfamiliar speakers, or write for a real audience.
Add opportunities to use the language beyond the page. Discuss a familiar topic with a partner, write a short message with a clear purpose, or listen to a new recording on a related subject.
Before you choose a volume
Check the full title, level, format, edition, and ISBN on the publisher’s page. If buying a practice book, confirm which course book it accompanies and whether the answer material meets your needs for independent study.
Choose the volume that solves your current learning problem. A learner who needs basic explanations, someone who wants additional exercises, and a professional practising workplace communication may need three different books from the same series.
