1. Scope
This Cookie Policy explains how Global Test Limited uses cookies and similar technologies on globalenglishtest.com. It is intended for visitors worldwide, including visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
2. Your choices
Analytics cookies are on by default, including before you make a choice. Advertising cookies are off until you accept Marketing. Selecting “Reject all”, or disabling Statistics in “Manage choices” and saving, turns Analytics off. Google’s limited cookieless measurement can continue when a category is disabled, as explained below. You can accept all, reject all or select individual purposes in the consent banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Manage consent” control shown on the website. Your saved opt-out is respected on subsequent visits. The default Analytics setting is not treated as an affirmative acceptance in our consent records.
When you make or change a choice, we store a necessary consent cookie and a pseudonymous server-side record containing a random identifier, your selected categories, date and time, the policy/banner version and the notice presented. The consent record does not contain your IP address, user-agent, name or email address.
3. Strictly necessary technologies
These technologies are required for core functions such as security, fraud prevention, remembering consent, delivering the test, account/session functions and processing payments. They cannot be switched off through the consent banner where they are necessary to provide a service you request.
- Complianz: stores the banner status and category choices, normally for up to 365 days.
- GET consent record:
get_consent_idstores a random record identifier for up to 365 days. - WordPress/WooCommerce: may use session, security and order cookies when those functions are used.
- Stripe: may use fraud-prevention and payment-security technologies when payment functions are used.
- Google reCAPTCHA: may process technical information when security checks are required to protect forms and services from abuse.
4. Statistics
The Google tag loads when you visit. Analytics is on by default, so analytics cookies may be read and written before you make a choice. If you previously turned Statistics off, that opt-out is applied from the start. Selecting “Reject all” or disabling Statistics switches Analytics to limited cookieless measurement without reading or writing Google Analytics cookies.
When Statistics is enabled, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, page use and service performance. Typical cookies include _ga and _ga_*, which may persist for up to two years unless you withdraw consent or delete them sooner. The Statistics setting controls Google Analytics storage. Analytics is enabled by default; your explicit opt-out takes precedence.
5. Marketing and advertising measurement
With Marketing consent, Google Ads technologies may measure advertising performance and support ads personalisation or remarketing outside this website. Typical cookies may include _gcl_au, generally retained for up to 90 days. Marketing consent controls ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization through Google Consent Mode v2.
Without Marketing consent, these advertising consent signals remain denied and advertising cookies are not read or written. Limited cookieless measurement can still be sent to Google. Withdrawing Statistics or Marketing consent returns the corresponding signals to denied.
GET does not display Google AdSense advertisements on this website.
6. How Google uses information
Limited cookieless measurement can include consent status, device/browser information, visited URLs, referral information and IP address. With Statistics enabled by default, Google may also receive analytics cookie identifiers and fuller analytics information. Advertising cookie identifiers and advertising-measurement information require Marketing consent. Read Google’s explanation of data use on partner sites and apps and Google’s Privacy Policy.
7. Browser controls
You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent parts of the website, the test, checkout or security controls from working correctly.
