2. Information we process

Depending on how you use the website, we may process:

  • information you provide, such as your name, surname, email address, support messages and other form entries;
  • test responses, scores, results and certificate information;
  • transaction and order information needed to provide paid services. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by us in full;
  • technical and security information, including IP address, browser/device information, requested URLs, timestamps and server logs;
  • cookie and consent choices, including a random consent record identifier, selected categories, date and time, and the version of the notice shown; and
  • analytics information collected by default unless you turn Statistics off, limited cookieless measurement information sent to Google when Statistics is off, and advertising-measurement information when you grant Marketing consent.

3. Why we process information

We process information to provide and administer the English test and certificate service, fulfil orders, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve the website. Google Analytics is on by default unless you turn Statistics off. Advertising cookies and ads personalisation require Marketing consent. You may change these settings at any time through the “Manage consent” control on the website.

4. Google services

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used and Google Ads technologies to measure advertising performance. The Google tag loads when you visit. Analytics is enabled by default, including before you make a banner choice, so Google Analytics may read and write analytics cookies. Previously saved Statistics opt-outs are respected. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ads personalisation remain disabled until Marketing consent is confirmed.

You can turn Analytics off by selecting “Reject all” or disabling Statistics in “Manage choices” and saving your choices. This changes Analytics to limited cookieless measurement; Google Analytics cookies are no longer used by the tag. Marketing consent separately enables advertising storage, advertising user data and ads personalisation. You can change these settings through “Manage consent” at any time. The default Analytics setting is not recorded as an affirmative acceptance by you.

Google may process information such as online identifiers, device/browser data, visited pages, referral information and IP address in connection with these services. Learn how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services and review Google’s Privacy Policy.

GET does not publish Google AdSense advertising on this website.

5. Other service providers

We use service providers where needed to operate the website and deliver the service. These may include website hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery services, security and anti-abuse tools such as Google reCAPTCHA, payment providers such as Stripe, and WordPress/WooCommerce components. Providers process information only for the relevant service and under their applicable contractual and privacy terms.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary technologies support security, consent preferences and core site functions. Analytics cookies are used by default until you turn Statistics off. Advertising cookies require Marketing consent. Google’s limited cookieless measurement can continue for categories that are disabled, as described above. Details, purposes and indicative retention periods are provided in our Cookie Policy.

7. Consent records

To demonstrate and respect your choices, we keep a pseudonymous record of consent changes. The record contains a random browser identifier, category choices, server timestamp, policy/banner version and the wording and choices presented. We do not add your IP address, user-agent, name or email address to this consent record. Records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and resolve related disputes.

8. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including providing the service, maintaining transaction and certificate records, complying with tax and legal requirements, preventing fraud and resolving disputes. Retention periods vary by record type. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.

9. International transfers

Some providers may process information outside your country. Where applicable, we rely on recognised transfer safeguards, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses, together with appropriate technical and organisational protections.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, object to processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. To exercise a right, contact support@globalenglishtest.com. We may need to verify your request.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the data-protection authority in your country.

11. Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change; the latest revision date appears at the top of this page.
